*1 Zazu's radio program:
To amuse the new king Scar, the imprisoned Zazu has to sing him
some tunes like some kind of radio. These songs are:

1. Nobody knows the trouble I've seen
written by Leadbelly aka. Huddie William Ledbetter (~1885 - 1949)
Leadbelly was one of the greatest folksong composers of all times
2. It's a small world (after all)
written by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman
This is quite an odd inside joke, for that song of the long time Disney composers
is known as the most interpreted song in the world.... but Scar only mentioned:
"No no, anything but THAT !!"
3. I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts
written by Heartherton Fred in 1951
in the German movie version this song was replaced by
Sur le pont d'Avignon, an old French traditional song.

*2 The lion sleeps tonight:
This song began as a big South African Hit in 1939. Its name was Mbube (Zulu for "Lion"),
written by Solomon Linda and performed by The Evening Birds. Pete Seeger and his Weavers,
a famous folkband in the 50s, picked up the song in 1952 and re-arranged the line uyimbube ("you're a lion")
to the now known "a´weema-weh". Under the preudonym Paul Campbell, Seeger got temporary copyrights
for that song. After several more recordings the nowadays best known version is from The Tokens (1961).
For this version, George Weiss, Luigi Creatore and Hugo Peretti wrote the today known lyrics
("in the jungle, the mighty jungle..." aso.).
In 2000 the Rolling Stone magazine mentioned, Disney had earned U.S. $15 million for its use
in The Lion King alone. Four years later the family of Solomon Linda attemped a lawsuit against Disney,
who still uses the song in the movie and the stageplay of The Lion King.

*3 The Hula Song:
P
robably known as the Hawaiian War Chant, written by Hawaiian Prince Leleiohoku around 1860. For more information
